OOPNP prediction for 53rd Express entry draw was bang on target, where in our last post here we predicted a score of 451 with 3000+ invitations. The CIC 53rd draw has been declared on Jan 25th 2017 with CRS Cut-off at 453 points and 3,508 invitations, which is possibly the biggest draw since the start of Express Entry.
There are couple of reasons here for such large draws. One of them is the huge backlog since 19th Nov. 2016 score update, where CIC skipped a draw for FSW candidates and drew less applicants to avoid backlog. The backlog built up pressure on CIC to draw some of the biggest draws in month of Jan 2017. With a quota allocation of almost 74,000 candidates for FSW in 2017, CIC has already drawn 9,000+ applicants in the month of January itself, which leads us to believe that possibly even the next draws will topple the 3,000 number. But speaking logically, CIC can not keep on drawing 3,000 applications in every draw if it wants to keep the system smoother otherwise the applicants will see longer processing time putting pressure on CIC.
The other reason for the huge draw is possibly Ontario nominations may be starting anytime soon, they already initiated the process with French speaking stream, which was not expected but oh well, nothing is happening as per expectations these days with CIC. The recent CIC draws has taken off some burden from the pool and we expect this to stabilize with the next 54th draw expected in February.
CIC 54th Draw Express Entry –
The next draw will define the complete picture for the upcoming CIC draws. We expect that CIC has already eased off the pressure and possibly may not draw similar volume of applicants. However, there is a scenario where the scores will drop to previous lowest levels of 451 or may be below. We adjudge our predictions on both scenarios here –
- In first scenario, possibly the backlog is still there and with this CIC may try to draw high number of applicants and draw scores in the CRS backet of 448-453.
- In second scenario, the backlog is over and CIC will expect draws to stabilise around 2,000 applicants keeping scores in the line of 451-460.
On an average, CIC can expect to draw 4000 candidates on an average month and they have already drawn their quota for Feb 2017. It is highly likely that they would try to stabilize future draws with average number of applicants drawn out of pool. But as we have realized, nothing is happening as per our logical thinking (except for 53rd draw), CIC can go in any direction.
