Update 2nd November 2016 –

CIC issues 2080 invitations with a CRS cut-off at 472. Just 3 points dropped but the good news is the invitations are increasing higher.

This draw is 100% in sync with our prediction in article below.

CIC continues to surprise all aspirants, as it continued the trend of decreasing CRS cut-off and increasing invitations. The 46th draw is expected on November 2nd 2016,  if CIC decides not to issue 3 draws in the month of November, there is a probability of delay in 46th draw to 9th November 2016. If there is a delay in this draw, we are expecting announcement of immigration policy may be announced alongwith the OINP reopening dates or quota allocation numbers.

It’s noteworthy that OINP has confirmed introduction of Online application system for its candidates to apply online and reduce the application processing time. This will also help candidates to track status update of their applications, which presently has no transparent tracking what so ever. OINP mentions –

Ontario anticipates that it will receive its 2017 nomination allocation from the federal government before the end of November 2016, and the province expects to be in a position to accept applications for some streams in six months.

This essentially means OINP may not start accepting the applications as of yet and may begin again from January 1st 2017 following the trend of CIC Express entry system announcement in Jan 2015. The quota allocation for provinces including Ontario, Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island may be higher in 2017 compared to previous years. CIC has a trend of releasing draws every alternate week but the 44th and 45th draw were released without any gaps, which has raised hopes of many aspirants across the world.

SINP accepted 700 applications for in-demand streams giving us an indication that positive immigration changes are on its way but facing some opposition within the government as indicated by the immigration minister McCallum and Navdeep Bains discussed in previous articles.

Our prediction for the upcoming draws in November 2016 is –

The 46th draw may have a score of 468-472 with approximately 1700-2000 invitations. CIC will release 5 more draws in  2016 taking total number of draws to approx. 51. The month of November will have 2 draws possibly on 9th November 2016 and 23rd November 2016 each with a decreasing CRS cut-off with least score settling somewhere at 458. The CRS cut-off may again rise higher towards the end of year draws in December 2016 moving towards the bracket of 470-480.

The CRS is not expected to go lower than 450 under any circumstances. And as judged by OINP website, the cut-off score for receiving OINP invitations may well stay in 400-450 to allow OINP make use of its quota allocation. It remains to be seen how CIC ends year 2016 for all aspirants across the world.

Candidates with scores 400 and below has been left in lurch with no way to enter express entry system unless they can get higher scores. The system may face a backlash in 2017 if the immigration Minister fails to change the present situation. We can only expect November to have 3 draws each with a decreasing score and hit at least 450 CRS score to draw in maximum possible candidates.

We will keep you posted as we the next draws are announced.

Cheers

Fingers crossed. I have a CRS score of 470. With this information I should get ITA in the next draw or the one after that. I hope the new policy favours a lot of people.

    Hi Rachael,
Do you think we’ll see another 2 draws during the November or just 1 more? Because you mentioned the draws would be 9th and 23rd but today (Nov 2) we already had a draw. And after today’s draw, are you still predicting the CRS cut off will drop to 458 over the next 2 months?
    Thank you for your time.

Anything above has a fair chance till end of this year or start of 2017 unless CIC decides to lower the number of invitations which is not likely to happen soon.

    Hi Rachel,

I have a score of 436, I am confused if I have to give an IELTS exam again or wait for Ontario PNP to open for express entry candidates ( score between 400-450 ).
What do you suggest? Also If I wait for PNP to open again, is there any provision that I have to apply that before I complete my 2years graduating from school. Like I graduated in April 2015, can I apply for Ontario PNP express entry after April 2017.

    Thanks,
    Sid

Ontario PNP should start soon as they mention on their website, if you can wait for 3-4 months please wait for OINP to invite you.

You can not apply after 2 years have passed after your graduation date.

Hello , do you have an idea when are new rules coming out? And how many points would be granted to individuals who are between 400-450 CRS and have all requirements for CEC, also have been in Canada since 2010-2011 ?

We expect these laws to come soon but at the moment no idea. One of our colleague predict an additional 25 points will be granted for such individuals and 50 for Canadian education, but this remains to be confirmed officially.

I have 462 points. From March 2016 score does not come down from 470. That means there is a huge backlog from 450 – 472 points. It will take more than 8-10 draws to clear backlogs. What you think Rachael? Hope they are going to have 3 big draws in this month.

Yes you are right, this next 47th draw will give us an insight on how many candidates are stuck in 470-475 bracket we expect somewhere around 4000. We also expect 3 draws to draw in candidates for month of November 2016 and 2 more in December.

    Hi,
My CRS score is 475, is there any chance to get ITA in the next draw? When do you think Ontario PNP is going to open for Human Capital Priorities System? I did called them and one person said they are going to open it in the end of Dec or Jan, but the other person said may be around Jan. But neither of them confirmed any thing.

    Thanks
