CIC considering adding another stream for International Students – Fall 2016 Policy
Hello Readers,
A lot has been said and written concerning the situation of International students within Canada or outside the country getting additional points for their Canadian education. However, it is still unclear whether CIC will provide additional points to the international students sitting in the pool or how the policy changes will be implemented.
However, our OINP staff employee has informed us that CIC is considering additional stream for International students where the students who have completed education from Canada will be allowed to directly receive ITA and proceed towards their application of Permanent Residency.
In a recent video that surfaced on Facebook, Minister Mc. Callum was provided a similar suggestion where students questioned why students having studied in Canada and contributed to the Canadian economy are being asked to go for LMIA, why are they leveled with other international graduates who have no experience about Canada. In return, minister has expressed concerns about the same and this new policy change is being considered as a solution for this problem.
CIC is going to declare it’s 42nd draw today and if the skeptics are to be believed, the scores are expected to take a dip today with increase in the number of invitations. However, we do not expect scores to go down below 490 today with ITA’s remaining in the bracket of 850-1000. The scores are expected to dip further but it’s highly uncertain to figure out the lower limit for CRS scores.
We are expecting a clear picture to emerge once the OINP resumes sending nominations in November, possibly Nov. 25th and these international student scenario is cleared.

The same case for Candian Experience class as well right.. They are contributed to the Canadian economy are being asked to go for LMIA, why are they leveled with other workers who have no experience in Canada.
if there is a separate stream for students , do you think CIC will compromise of the FSW stream. that is reducing the target for FSW and giving it to student stream?
