Are you looking to Immigrate to Canada with your family or if you are still single (thank god) and looking to settle down in Canada for your better future ?

This article enlists one of the best routes to immigrate to Canada as a Permanent Resident while having the best possible Canadian education without burning a hole in your pocket.

If you are not aware Canada is one of the hottest educational destination. Canadian education is highly valued and the colleges are some of the highest ranked in the world. Any international student coming to Canada to study is allowed a work permit of 1-3 years depending upon the duration of course.

Getting this work permit allows the students to gain international exposure and since most of the students have taken loans for their courses, it’s a great opportunity for them to recover investment. However, this complete process is the most dependable one for the aspirants if you want to immigrate to Canada as a Permanent Resident. How to do that, well read on 🙂

Get a Study Permit –

MBA is one of the costliest degrees around the world and the tuition fees for this course is usually the costliest for any given college. If you have lots of cash to burn there is no dearth of colleges with tuition fees ranging $50,000-$120,000 CAD. However, if you are running low on budget consider these options –

MBA Program Full-time Tuition
Memorial University $4,400.00
UQAM School of Management
Université du Québec à Montréal
Université de Moncton $9,810.00
Université de Sherbrooke $11,000.00
Université Laval $11,550.00
Royal Military College $13,900.00
HEC Montréal $15,300.00
John Molson School of Business
Concordia University
Sobey School of Business
Saint Mary’s University
Sprott School of Business
Carleton University

These university degrees are valued by the industry and under your budget. Under best circumstances, you should expect an yearly expense of $7,000-$10,000 CAD for food and shelter in Canada. One must remember that staying as a student has its benefits and you will usually find everything cheaper while you stay as a student. Always have insurance with you at all times, try to reduce your cost of living, although it’s highly variable according to the standard of living of every individual.

Get a Work Permit –

With the course duration of 2 year, you can expect a work permit of upto 3 years. Though, recently there have been cases of aspirants receiving a work permit of only 1 year but that’s highly unlikely case. With a work permit of 3 years, you are allowed to work and earn in Canada legally while you work your way towards permanent residency.

Apply for Provincial Nomination –

Getting a Canadian Master’s degree entitles you to apply for Provincial nomination under International Master’s Stream Ontario which is a completely different stream specifically for the candidates who have completed their master’s education from Canada. You can read more about the documentation here on Ontario Immigration website – Click here.

To apply for this you must have legal status in Canada and you can only apply within 2 years of your graduation. All other requirements are enlisted onsite. If your application is completed and you have read all requirements, there is 100% chances of your nomination with Ontario province, there are hardly any rejections if you have fulfilled all checklist. This process usually takes in 10-12 months and can be done right after your graduation is completed.

Apply for Express Entry Permanent Residency –

On receipt of your nomination from province, you can file up with Express entry program under CEC (if you are working in Canada) along with your provincial nomination to receive your Permanent Residency. Applications are usually processed within six months of filling up.

Points to Note –

  • Always confirm with your college of interest that the degree provided is of 2 years not just 1 year since that will lead you to get a work permit of 1 year and you will have very less time to complete the process.
  • Always read the Ontario International Master stream criteria since it may change soon. This program needs a physical stay of 12 months by Candidate within the province of Ontario
  • If you are single, well nothing to worry about you can follow this process directly but if you are married or have a family, in that case you can get your study permit and move to Canada following which you can call your Spouse and children. Your spouse will be entitled to an Open Work Permit which will allow him/her to work anywhere in Canada with any company and your children will be entitled to receiving education just like any normal Canadian child.
  • You can always file up for Permanent Residency for your whole family following the process described above.

That’s it folks ! This complete process is without any loopholes and if followed correctly will allow you to immigrate to Canada equipped with Canadian Education which is highly valued by the employers.

We will soon post an article about the MSc. degree in Canada, its duration, tuition fees and what colleges to follow.

Stay tuned.

My question is-what are the chances for lawyers outside Canada migrating or being nominated for permanent residency?

There is 100% chance if you have enough CRS score you can get PR without concerns.

I have a low CRS score so Express Entry is ruled out for now (age factor + have just Bachelor’s degree) . What i want to know is if puruse Masters/MBA from Canada ( say from Carleton University) , would i then stand a chance to apply for PR under International Masters stream ? I am seriously considering going for a Canadian MBA only if that opens a chance to Canada PR .. Please advise
