Ontario Nomination program has been a ray of hope for many who are in the CRS score bracket of 400-450. Although the program has been enforced effectively, but looks like it’s not foolproof.
Today we are going to discuss the nomination of a candidate who did not fulfill the criteria setup by Ontario province but still received nomination, permanent residency and flying to Ontario in next couple of weeks. Some of you may think this is not true, well it’s just that we know personally all these details are true.
Ontario is currently giving invitations to candidates, who have a minimum seat at a score of more than 400. After you receive the invitation from Ontario, you have to file application under 45 days. On evaluation and supposed cross checking with your express entry details, your application is processed and OINP grants you nomination. This nomination comes under your express entry account only and adds 600 points to your CRS score which will make sure you get ITA as the next step and go forward with the Permanent Residency application.
However recently a candidate reverse engineered this system to receive nomination. Following which he immediately changed his profile back to his real details. Ontario nomination allows you to file up the application in 45 days which he promptly did. Since the application details matched the details on express entry application, his application passed review and he received Ontario provincial nomination. This gave him an extra 600 points and he received ITA under FSW category. In the second month of January, he received his COPR.
This case has us wondering whether the system is really foolproof or not. A candidate has successfully used this system to get nomination from a Canadian Province and successfully got PR under the current express entry system. This makes me wonder if the application details are really checked before sending out the PT (interest) from Ontario or it’s just a system generated nomination following some algorithm.
We will not reveal the identity of the candidate but we know his profile well enough which got him Ontario Nomination. We can’t say it’s fair or not but have you seen similar cases ? Will you do something like this to get to Canada, risk it all what it takes to land in Canada as a Permanent Resident ? Well, we leave this up to you.
